We love nougat!

Candy trivia: Nougat is one of the world’s oldest candies, likely made on open fires by the ancient Greeks. The basic recipe for nougat is to whip boiling sugar and honey syrup into egg whites, then add inclusions such as nuts or dried fruits. Nougat is enjoyed around the world today in many different variations.

When we first started Whimsical Candy®, we were shocked to discover how many people did not know about nougat. American candy bars often contain nougat, but it is a very aerated style that is much closer to marshmallow in texture. People trying La-Dee-Dahs® for the first time timidly asked, “What’s the white stuff?”

Our founder is on a one-woman campaign to bring nougat back into the candy vernacular! Our Nifty Nougats are made with traditional nougat ingredients, but the texture is a little softer than classic European nougat, giving a bow to great American candy ingenuity!

Toasted Almond Coconut pairs darkly roasted almonds for a rich flavor and crunch with finely shredded coconut for a slightly sweet finish.

Peanutty Chocolate is all classic American candy taste.  We're told it can cause a nostalgic soft serve ice cream flashback!
